Greening Oakland Homes – Volunteers Needed!

Montclair Action is putting its energies behind a new advocacy area: energy and environmental issues, and they will plan actions this Wednesday evening.

This group emerged from a local "Barack" election group, and has successfully organized a school fair unifying all the Oakland-wide volunteer groups. Now it's also shining a light on other areas.

Montclair Action would like volunteers to help think about practical goals related to greening Oakland homes - and promoting home energy and water conservation one neighborhood at a time.

Their Energy/Environment Issues Group has been active talking with homeowners, local businesses, “Green” organizations and the City of Oakland about our proposal to bring together Oakland homeowners with contractors and service providers at neighborhood fairs.

The group has been receiving overwhelming support and interest in the idea. A plan has been developed and more volunteers are needed!
