Event Description

Join neighborhood volunteers for their regular monthly work day in Beaconsfield Canyon, this Saturday morning from 9am - noon.

Canyon restoration takes time and commitment, so come help work to shine this canyon gem. Volunteers clear fallen debris, pull invasive plants, plant natives and extend trails.

Remember to wear sturdy shoes or boots for hiking up a slope, and bring work gloves if you have them. No experience is necessary, as the volunteers will show you the ropes.

More details...

What's Beaconsfield: Well, it's a small place but there are those who love her. Beaconsfield Canyon is a small, five-acre preserve near Ascot Drive, which is managed by the City of Oakland. It’s pretty much left alone by the City, and has been restored through hard work by neighbors.

Where's Beaconsfield: To access, plan to meet at the end of Beaconsfield Place (closest address is 2639, then walk in on dirt road), second street on the right as you go up Chelton from Ascot Drive. From Montclair Village, go south on Mountain, bear left as it becomes Ascot. At the fork, turn left on Chelton, then right on Beaconsfield.
