More about Joaquin Miller Park

Enter Joaquin Miller Park and you will quickly forget that you are minutes away from the hustle and bustle of the City. Hikers, equestrians, and bicyclists regularly frequent the 500-acre park just 9 miles from downtown Oakland. Its rustic woodland trails lead you through redwood groves and oak woodlands and across lush creek sides and wet meadows.

It is one of the few open space areas in the City of Oakland where dogs are allowed on-leash throughout the park, with an off-leash area for both large and simall dogs. Park facilties are also availalble for weddings, picnics, large group gatherings and special events

And it's the home of the great Woodminster Theater, with the beautiful cascades from the back side that are not to be missed. Come explore the wonders of Oakland's urban wildlands and the best that the WPA contributed here too, years ago.
