Make sure you check this out, even if you don't have kids.  On Wednesday, October 31st, Montclair's Halloween Parade takes place in the village.  It's a hoot, with all the kids and parents lining up near Bank of America.

The all-important Oakland Fire Truck, Skyline High band, and Wells Fargo wagon with beautiful horses kick things off.  Our District 4 Rep Libby Schaaf and our "cat mayor" should be there too.

Finally, all the eager and restless kids are ready to march down Mountain. When they take a right on La Salle, all heck breaks loose. The kids break ranks as they are happily lured to candies offered by merchants lining the sidewalks. Eventually the kids take another right on Moraga and finish in Montclair Park.

Our parade is a great tradition, and you will be laughing and cheering the kids and dogs and parents corralling them. The Oakland cops assigned to the street closures all have big smiles, as they control the chaos along with other volunteers.

It's time forgotten, in the best possible way. Come check out the parade, which is sponsored and organized by the Lions Club every year.
