Celebrate USA traditions at Dunsmuir House on July 4th, including an old-fashioned Teddy Bear Parade and potato sack races. This event's great for families with toddlers and grade schoolers, who can play all afternoon!

Here the scoop from Dunsmuir folks:

Join the Picnic: It's a family outing with picnicking on our expansive lawns, music, and games for the adults and kids. Get your appetites ready as there will be watermelon contests and pie eating contests for everyone of all ages.

Play Our Games: The children's games for the day include potato sack racing, three-legged racing, children's golf, and a series of old fashioned games like hop scotch, Jacob's Ladder, ring toss, wood propeller, pick up sticks, tic-tac-toe, jacks, tops, and croquet.

Bring Your Own: Bring a blanket and a picnic for your afternoon enjoyment on our sprawling lawns, and a teddy bear or two for your child's jaunt along the Teddy Bear Parade.

Parade At 1pm: Have your child bring the best of their teddy bears; have them dress them up, decorate them, and bring them in a wagon, a basket, or in anything their imagination conjures. They will parade with their teddy bears around the Estate and be candidates for Teddy Bear Best of Show prizes. The parade begins at 1 PM.

Tours/Fees: The Neoclassical Revival, 16,224 square foot mansion will be open for free self-guided tours. Admission: Adults, $5; Children, $2; Under 5, Free; Family Price, $12 (2 Adults, 2 Children). Tour included.
