Event Description
Why not hang out at Lakeside Park, and hear our very own band play on Sunday afternoon? The Oakland Municipal Band will play on the historic Edoff Memorial Bandstand, starting at 1pm.
This band was created back in 1912 and has been performing down at Lake Merritt ever since then...with different member of course. Wesley Broadnax, from Cal State East Bay's music department, is the current band leader.
Come and enjoy two hours of musical variety on Sunday. You can stretch out on a blanket under shady oaks, pack a lunch and enjoy the ambiance. Of course, the concert is free too.
Tip of the hat to Oakland Magazine, who reminded us about this home-town band and its summer concerts. The band plays every Sunday through August 2nd.
