Free Outdoor Movie: Dead Calm, At Jack London Square

Take in a waterfront flick this Thursday, when Jack London Square presents Dead Calm.

This is definitely an "R" movie and be prepared to be horrified! A suspenseful thriller, Dead Calm is a chilling tale of trouble on the high seas starring Sam Neil, Nicole Kidman and Billy Zane.

A married couple sail the Pacific Ocean to forget a tragic accident. After a month at sea, they sight a mysterious yacht and are boarded by its lone surviving crew member. When the husband discovers the yacht's terrible secret, the crewman goes wild, kidnapping his wife and taking his ship.

Terror on the high seas is center stage as the husband fights to keep the mystery yacht afloat and his wife battles the psychotic who's assumed control of their ship.

The movie starts at sundown on large screens placed at the East Lawn. The fun begins at 7:30 pm, with Oakland Trivia questions presented by The Oakbook. Win great prizes, too.
